GSM Association

Founded in 1987, GSMA (Global Systems for Mobile communications Association) is a global trade association representing over 700 GSM mobile phone operators across 218 countries of the world. In addition, more than 200 manufacturers and suppliers support the Association’s initiatives as associate members.


The primary goals of the GSMA are to ensure mobile phones and wireless services work globally and are easily accessible, enhancing their value to individual customers and national economies. The GSMA also supports a competitive environment, thereby creating new business opportunities for operators and their suppliers.

 

The Association's members serve more than 2 billion customers – over 82% of the world's mobile phone users.

CTIA

Founded in 1984, CTIA is an international organisation representing all sectors of wireless communications – cellular, personal communication services and enhanced specialised mobile radio.


As a nonprofit membership organisation, CITA represent service providers, manufacturers, wireless data and Internet companies and other contributors to the wireless universe.

ATIS

ATIS is a United States-based body that rapidly develops and promotes technical and operations standards for the communications and related information technologies industry worldwide, using a pragmatic, flexible and open approach. Its standardisation activities for wireless and wireline networks include among others:

  • Improved data transmission
  • Internet telephony
  • Toll-free access
  • Telecom fraud
  • Order and billing issues

ATIS is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).


The ATIS-sponsored Ordering and Billing Forum (OBF) provides a forum for customers and providers in the telecommunications industry to identify, discuss, and resolve national issues which affect ordering, billing, provisioning and exchange of information about access services, other connectivity and related matters.
